This porfolio summarizes the relevant skills and experience acquired completing course projects at Gies College of Business. By collaborating with teams, working with clients, and implementing tools and frameworks, I applied what I learned in a real world setting.
Graphic Design
Graphic Design Advertisement Project
One of my projects in a graphic design course challenged me to develop a flyer that contained lots of information while still creating an effective design following graphic design principles. I chose to design a fictional advertisement for the Ellisville Fire Department, where I had a classic Americana theme in mind. I used Inkscape graphics editing software to create my own textual and graphical elements, and I wanted to promote the event in a fun but highly stylized way.

Web/Graphic Technology Poster Project
For this project, I created a poster campaign for a fictional retro arcade. I had good practice desinging my own font using FontStruct, and used it for the poster title and subheadings. The font I created is custom for this poster design, and I added different text effects to make the title, in particular, stand out and serve as a focal point. I had fun making my own fonts and applying it to a themed design!

Illinois Gies College of Business
Southern Glazer’s Student Showcase
Distributor Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits (SGWS) hosted a student showcase and challenged Gies marketing students to create a Talent Acquisition and Ideal Candidate Selection campaign. My team called our campaign, “Happy Hour of Networking”, a friendly event tailored for ideal candidates with the most effective outreach. With all teams presenting their campaigns to SGWS respresentatives, our team came out on top, placing 1st in the student showcase with the best presentation overall!

Brand Communications Campaign
Our team created a proposed brand repositioning campaign for Amazon Music so its identity appears differentiated and meaningful to new and current listeners alike. We created new brand positioning statement, physical and digital ads, and ensured all branding and messaging was integrated and told a continous brand story people resonated with.

Gymshark TikTok Promotion Campaign
Consumer behavior studies how decision-making processes affect buyer attitudes and behavior. To effectively target different customer segments based on how people make these decisions, we created TikTok ads for Gymshark, a fitness apparel company. By identifying distinct customer segments, our team put together an in-depth promotion campaign with TikTok ads that not only effectively targeted each group, but better positioned Gymshark in the fitness apparel industry.

Embolden Boutique Consulting Project
As part of Power Walkers Consulting, we were tasked to solve an organizational problem by working with Embolden, an online boutique store, to help increase organic website traffic and improve conversion rates. This included implementing SEO, designing surveys, and building-out a marketing funnel. This final project included our SEO and survey results, a complete marketing funnel, and final recommendations. By working closely with our client from January to April 2022, we signficantly improved both the number of email sign-ups and website visitors (see slide 18 below)!

Triptych Brewing Consulting Project
Consulting with Triptych Brewing located in Savory, IL, our team, Trippy Marketing, applied the marketing research process to find a potential target market on campus for the brewery’s new seltzer, Dank Scheme. To evaluate the overall attitudes and perceptions of seltzers amongst college students, we sent out a 25 question survey to over 100 people using Qualtrics, an online survey platform. After presenting our insights and final recommendations, Triptych Brewing had unique knowledge about the UIUC seltzer market that our client could use to effectively gauge the viability of launching Dank Scheme on campus.
